Bike Week 2008

Bike Week Family Cycle Challenge

One of the main events for Bike Week is a family competition, where families can win a £500 voucher to Centre Parks sponsored by the Oracle Corporation, a Nokia phone or CTC goodie bags.

The aim of the competition is to get families to clock up as many minutes as they can on their bikes in a week. The exact minutes are tracked by attaching cycle computers, which are available for free from Reading's Cycle Champion project, to wheels of your bike.

The competition is open to all members of the family of any age and will conclude with a big family cycle ride on Sunday, June 22nd, lead by Reading Cycle Campaign, starting and finishing at Palmer Park.

Families can register and pick up their free pedometer at four venues across the Borough; The Lodge, Palmer Park on the Wokingham Road, Prospect Park Pavilion, Academy Sport Centre, Northumberland Avenue and Rivermead Leisure Complex in Richfield Avenue.
