We are looking for a new newsletter editor
The Reading Cycle Campaign is recruiting for a new newsletter content editor!
Toby Gibbons will soon step down as our newsletter editor after doing the job for many years. This is a great loss but luckily he has reassured us that he will stay with the campaign and lend a hand when needed.
We do need to recruit a new newsletter editor for the Reading Cycle Campaign. The newsletter comes out four times a year on both paper and via email. Most of the communication happens through email but if you can come to the monthly meeting of the RCC this would be much appreciated. As editor you would be responsible for:
- Keeping the deadlines of the newsletter and sourcing sufficient articles, including updates from the committee, articles from the membership and collecting interesting snippets from other news sources Copy editing of the articles (but our proof reader double checks everything)
- Keeping in touch with the designer and distributor to arrange printing and delivery
- Organising artwork for adverts
The role requires about 10+ hours work for each quartely newsletter spread over a month. The editor is currently also a member of the committee but this is not essential. For a detailed job description click here.
Toby will be on hand for to support the new editor as the role is handed over
No experience or qualifications necessary except for an enthusiasm to make Reading better for cyclists. A good feel for written text and grammar and some word processing experience would be a bonus.
